Siman Tov!   Mazel Tov!   Siman Tov!   Mazel Tov!   Siman Tov!

It is with tremendous joy and heart-felt gratitude to Hashem that we announce the wonderful engagement of Chaya Sara S. and Schneur J!

Chaya Sara came to Israel on Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl’s 71st rescue airlift that arrived at Ben-Gurion Airport on October 27, 2005. She was fourteen years old.

Her life had been terribly sad and challenging. Her mother was severely ill with liver and other problems and was constantly in and out of the hospital and unable to care for herself.

To add to Chaya Sara’s sorrows, her father, the mainstay in their home, was tragically killed in an automobile accident in May, 2005.

Bereft at her terrible loss, and suffering from Chernobyl herself, Chaya Sara was rescued by CCOC and brought to Israel. Her health improved quickly but her difficult life up to then left her quiet and introspective. She struggled with her studies.  Friendships did not come easily because she was so reserved.

And then two years after she came to Israel, her mother passed away, leaving her truly alone. Alone except for her CCOC family who were dedicated to loving and nurturing this precious neshama.

With lots of caring and perseverance on the part of everyone at CCOC, Chaya Sara slowly became a mature, kind, soft-spoken and, ultimately happy young woman. She spent her after-school hours with a wonderful family as a mother’s helper and the strength and warmth of their family life strongly influenced her  life as well.

Chaya Sara is today training at Il Makiage to become a make-up expert.

Her Chattan, Shneur, is 24 and a native Israeli who is serving in the Israel Defense Forces.

It is truly the support and partnership of our dear friends like you that enabled CCOC to bring Chaya Sara to this wonderful day. On her behalf, and that of Schneur, we send deepest gratitude and appreciation.

Siman Tov and Mazel Tov to all of us!!!
