When it comes down to it... aren’t we all just Children at Heart?
Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl (CCOC) is a not-for-profit organization that evacuates kids from the radioactive Chernobyl region and provides them with critical medical care, new homes, and excellent education in Israel.
CCOC also provides children currently living in the radioactive zone with medicine and advanced medical equipment.
Every CCOC rescue mission is a
miracle. Each flight is crowded with children who are eager to begin healthy
lives; and each plane is fueled by the generosity and determination of the CCOC
family and donor base. Every child CCOC rescues from Chernobyl has a unique
story; but all 2,562 children CCOC has rescued throughout time will share a
common story—the story of Rabbi Raichik and the miracles he helped accomplish.
It is with a sense of inestimable loss that we inform you of news
we prayed never to impart:
Rabbi Yossie Raichik passed away this morning
in Israel.
Funeral services have already been held in Har HaMenuchos in
Jerusalem.
His wife, Dina, and their children, are sitting shiva in
their home in Kfar Chabad, where they will be joined by Rabbi Raichik's
sisters.
Rabbi Raichik's brothers, including Reb Abi, formerly Executive
Director of Chabad's Children of Chernobyl in the United States, will be sitting
shiva - beginning this morning - at the Raichik home in Los Angeles, CA.
May HaShem Yizboruch grant comfort to all
his family, and may his Neshama be bound up in eternal peace.
